(WMC-TV) - The St. Louis Cardinals dealt lefty Marc Rzepczynski Tuesday, but stayed rather quiet on Wednesday's trade deadline.
The team did, though, make some in-house roster moves, including placing all star catcher Yadier Molina on the 15 day disabled list.
Molina has been dealing with a right knee strain for more than a month now.
During Tuesday night's loss to the Pirates, Molina left in the third inning to head back to St. Louis for further examination.
The backstop is currently third in the NL batting race sporting a .330 average.
Joining him on the 15 day disabled list is outfielder Shane Robinson who has a right shoulder strain.
With Molina and Robinson out, the big club raids the baby birds roster, calling up outfielder Adron Chambers and Brock Peterson.
Chambers is making his first appearance in the majors this season.
In 98 games with the Redbirds, he batted .252 with 15 stolen bases.
Peterson returns to the big league club after just being optioned to Memphis on Saturday.
The Triple A All star has hit a Pacific Coast League-high 23 home runs.
He was 1-for-7 in his major league debut.
