Mid-South woman had her credit card stolen and $8,000 charged

(WMC-TV) - One Mid-South woman had her credit card stolen and thousands of dollars worth of purchases charged to the card.

The Memphis Police Department is looking for two suspects who were caught on surveillance camera for the crime.

The victim says she was at Panera Bread at Poplar and I-240. She put her purse down to throw away her trash... and, upon returning, discovered her wallet was gone.

The victim did question why the cashier didn't get an ID when charging the purchases. This was the response she received:

"She said it was because the cashier was new."

When she called to cancel her credit card, she was told $8,000 worth of gift cards had been put on the woman's stolen credit card.
