The St. Louis Cardinals have had to shuffle their starting pitching rotation, after Shelby Miller took a baseball to the elbow in last night's loss against the Dodgers.
Miller lasted just 2 pitches before a line-drive forced him out of the game.
X-rays were negative, and Miller should be available for his next start.
Jake Westbrook, who took over in Miller's absence, is NOT available for his next start, which was suppose to come Thursday night.
Instead, the Cardinals recalled right-hander Carlos Martinez from Memphis to make his first career start.
It's the third call-up this season for the 21-year-old prospect, who has made 10 relief appearances.
Martinez is 4-2 with a 1.76 ERA in 10 starts for the Redbirds.
