YOUR TURN: SCS school bus rules

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Robin Brown. Brown is one of many people who used our Facebook page to comment on new school bus rules for Shelby County Schools. In our story, the mother of two elementary students was complaining because her children had to walk farther to catch the bus. Brown had the same concern. In her words:

"My daughter has to walk almost two miles to school if I can't find her a ride. Some of those saying "stop complaining" today are the very same ones who will post "how sad" when one of these kids gets abducted. The school system said the transportation cut will help out in the classroom. Tell me why I still had to buy Expo markers, tissue, Ziploc bags and five reams of copy paper, and let's not forget hand sanitizer. I pay enough in taxes. The government leaders need a budget cut in their take home pay."

That's Robin Brown's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email or call 800-465-1210.
