Alabama tops preseason AP poll

Posted: Updated:

With the college football season just around the corner, it's the time of year for some bold predictions and some *not* so bold.
The Associated Press releasing it's Preseason list of top 25 teams...and the top team in the land will not come as a surprise to many.
Alabama will begin it's quest for a third straight championship ranked number 1 to start the season.
It marks the third straight season the Tide has topped the poll in the preseason.
Bama received 58 of 60 first-place votes from the media, matching Florida in 2009 for the highest percentage of first place votes in the 63-year history of the preseason rankings.
The Southeastern conference continuing it's college football dominance, occupying 5 of the 25 spots in the AP Poll to start the year.
Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford and Georgia rounding out the top 5...the Bulldogs receiving 1 first place vote...
South Carolina and Texas A&M are 6 and 7.
The American Athletic Conference represented by just one team in the rankings, Louisville at number 9.
Florida rounds out the top 10.
