Building evacuated at UT Knoxville campus following robbery

(WMC-TV) - A robbery occurred at the Carolyn M. Brown University Center on The University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus.

The center was evacuated and people were asked to avoid the area.  The University Center has since been reopened.

The robbery happened at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Notifications were sent out to students and faculty following the robbery. According to UT Knoxville, "federal law requires the university to notify the campus community of criminal activity, specifically crimes against persons, on or near campus".

According to the university, the suspect was wearing white scrubs, a white apron, and a white mask.
