Memphis man charged in park shooting that paralyzed victim

(WMC-TV) - A Memphis man is charged with a shooting at a Memphis park that injured one.

According to the police affidavit, 20-year-old Joshua Johnson was walking across Raleigh Bartlett Meadows Park, near Raleigh-LaGrange Road and Covington Pike, when he opened fire near a group of eight people.

One of those people, Quantize Chalmers, was shot in the back. Doctors say Chalmers will be permanently paralyzed.

Johnson is now facing eight counts of attempted second degree murder.
