Trans-Siberian Orchestra founder shares his love for Memphis

It has performed in front of more than 10 million people and is considered one of the most successful groups on tour right now. Later this holiday season, Trans-Siberian Orchestra will bring its rock opera to FedexForum.

This tour will be the last of its 15-year-long gig mixing Christmas music in a Rock Opera, with the title: "Lost Christmas Eve."

The group was founded by Paul O'Neill and consists of 24 lead singers, "If we come up with a new song that none of the vocalists can do we'll go get another new singer we add one."

"A reporter, I think from the Washington Post, said it best when he said the only way to describe Tran-Siberian Orchestra is The Who meets "Phantom of the Opera" meets the Pink Floyd light show on steroids and I'll take any one of those three as a compliment," noted O'Neill, who is excited to play in Memphis this holiday season.

"The first time you are in Memphis and you just realize your walking down the streets that Elvis walked down and all these legends before you... like paying homage to the people who started it all and it still inspires to this day," he said.

The group is considered one of the top touring acts around. They have performed in front of more than 10 million fans, with as many as 70 people on stage at once and are coming to Memphis December 6th. It'll be a final time for its Rock opera the lost Christmas eve...and playing Memphis is a big deal.
