Two arrested for setting a man on fire

(WMC-TV) – The search for two men accused of setting a Memphis man on fire is now over. Renard King and Robert Glasper have been arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder. King and Glasper are each being held on a one million dollar bond.

Police say King and Glasper approached Marcellus Evans in the backyard of this home in the 700 block of Glanker in August. According to the police report, King stunned Evans several times with a stun gun before Glasper grabbed the gasoline.

Investigators say the two then set Evans on fire and left. The victim was taken to the MED in extremely critical condition with burns to 60 percent of his body.

Police say witnesses identified the two men, who were on the run for nearly a month. King was arrested on September 8th and Glasper was taken into custody Monday afternoon.

Glasper will be first to face the judge this week. He's scheduled to be in court Tuesday morning. King will make his court appearance Wednesday morning.
