"I think life is like golf," said Morgan.

Morgan and her sister should know. They are members of Memphis Athletic Ministries golf team. During a recent tournament in Chattanooga they were among five Memphis Athletic Ministries players named to the West Tennessee PGA Junior League's golf all star team.

"We not only saw that they enjoyed it, but they were good at it so it's an opportunity for them to continue this sport for a lifetime," said the mother, Sheronda Smith.

These girls will tell you there is more than just golf going on in the program. They are also learning how to build character.

PGA professional Vince Alfonso coaches The Memphis Athletic Ministries team. He says lessons are divided into three parts.

"Working on academics or vocabulary or reading, and then we are working on math, and then we also work on the golf part, and then we have a devotion or bible study as part of all that," said Alfonso.

The young golfers say the focus on faith has helped them become better at golf.

"I think golf provides integrity, and it teaches you the nine core values," said Hali.
