CCAA and AJHL Champion Jesse Slobodian Joins Stingrays



The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Jesse Slobodian. In keeping with club policy, details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Slobodian, 23, enters his first professional season after completing a two-year collegiate career at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Canada scoring 27 points (four goals, 23 assists) in 47 total contests and winning a CCAA championship last season. Prior to college, the Edmonton, Alberta, native helped the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL capture back-to-back league championships (2010 and 2011) and added 38 points (four goals, 34 assists) in 167 games over four seasons. In 2008-09, Slobodian was named to the AJHL (North) All-Rookie Team.
