Residents plan crime-free future

(WMC-TV) - Frayser residents spent their Saturday imagining a better future for their community.

Frayser Building Neighborhood Capacity Program organizers gave residents a chance to envision a change in the community. According to planners, residents had the opportunity to discuss solutions to crimes in the area.

In a survey of 4,000 residents, crime was the number one problem.

Now, they are uniting to work on a new plan called 2020.

"So, what we're asking people to look at is what Frayser will look like in 2020 in terms of crime and tell us what they see. So, what we're doing is working backwards from that to see what we have to do to make that happen," stated Shep Wilbrun from the Building Neighborhood Capacity Program.

Three additional vision summits are scheduled to focus on health, education, and creating jobs in Frayser.
