Police still searching for the two suspects they believe were involved in a methamphetamine lab explosion in Wilson County on Saturday evening.

Lebanon first responders were called out to the Travel Inn along Murfreesboro Road around 7 p.m. for reports of an explosion.

Lebanon Police Chief Scott Bowen said crews found evidence of a methamphetamine lab on the second floor of the motel.

Chief Bowen went on to say that two suspects were trying to make methamphetamine inside the room when the ingredients exploded.

The suspects then ran from the scene, with no injuries reported. All the people staying on the wing around room 272, where the explosion occurred, had to relocate to other rooms.

But police say, instead of staying in for the night, three guest robbed a Dailys located behind the Travel Inn.

Chief Bowen says officers responded to the call around 4 a.m.

Three people were taken into custody, including a runaway teen.

Police say they will likely quarantine that area were the explosion occurred until its deemed save and meets certain clean up standards. Hazmat crews were brought in to clean up the chemicals.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
