No broken bones for deputy hit by car

(WMC-TV) - A DeSoto County sheriff's deputy who was hit by a car Monday afternoon suffered no broken bones as a result of the accident.  He is now at The MED getting a CAT scan as a precaution.

Sheriff Bill Rasco identifies the deputy as "Skip" Sheffler, who joined DCSO about one year ago.

The accident happened where Highway 385 intersects with Hacks Cross Road.

According to the sheriff, Deputy Sheffler had his cruiser lights on as he cleared debris from the roadway when a vehicle struck his car, which then hit him.
