78-year-old driver killed in Bellevue crash

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Nashville man died after a crash Tuesday afternoon on Charlotte Pike in Bellevue.

Police said Dial Delk, 78, was making a left turn from Charlotte onto Sawyer Brown Road in a 1993 Dodge minivan when he pulled into the path of an oncoming dump truck about 2:20 p.m.

The vehicles collided, and the van rolled several times, investigators said.

Delk was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the dump truck was not seriously hurt.
