A thin University of Memphis Basketball Front Line just got Thinner.
Tranfer Forward David Pellom is expected to miss the next 5 weeks after undergoing surgery on his left knee.
A 6'7" Senior, Pellom underwent an arthroscopic procedure today that head coach Josh Pastner called "simple and minor."
The Tigers now have only one front court player with any experience, that's Sophomore Shaq Goodwin.
Pellom, who transferred to the U of M from George Washington, was experiencing discomfort from a knee injury suffered earlier in his career.
He missed all of last season with a wrist injury that also required surgery.
In Pellom's last healthy season, he averaged more than 10 points and 6 rebounds a game, and was 4th nationally in Field Goal Percentage at 68.5%.
The Tigers play CBU in their lone exhibition game Friday night.
