The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carberyannounced today that forward Chris Langkow has been loaded to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Langkow, 24, skated in 11 games with the Stingrays this season scoring two goals and seven assists for nine points. The Vegreville, Alberta, native dressed in seven contests with the Sound Tigers during the 2011-12 campaign adding five points (1 goal, 4 assists).Acquired in a trade with the Reading Royals in early November last season, Langkow buried a career-high 37 points (18 goals, 19 assists) in 46 games with the Stingrays and added three assists in four Kelly Cup Playoff contests. In nine games with the Royals, he netted two goals and two assists for four points.
Over a four-year professional career, Langkow totaled 96 points (40 goals, 56 assists) in 138 ECHL contests with the Alaska Aces, Reading and South Carolina and helped the Aces capture the Kelly Cup in 2011. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward also saw 15 total AHL contests with Bridgeport and the Peoria Rivermen adding eight points (2 goals, 6 assists).
