High speed chase near school ends in arrest

(WMC-TV) - A high speed chase near an elementary school ended in the arrest of a Mid-South man.

According to Tipton County Sheriff's department, Emmett Miller, 20, is in jail after passing three vehicles in a no passing area.

A deputy said he saw Miller driving on the wrong side of the roadway and over hills Friday, November 15th.

In a press release to Action News 5, the car was described as follows:

"The red, 2007 Pontiac G6 had two flat tires and damage to the front of the vehicle."

The passenger in the car first told deputies Miller had kidnapped her during a carjacking. She later recanted that accusation and confirmed Miller was her boyfriend.

Miller is being held on a $5,000 bond. He faces eight charges and is scheduled to appear in court on December 10, 2013.
