The Memphis Tigers have a winning streak on their hands, thanks in large part to this week's national defensive back of the week.
DB Bobby McCain doubled his season interception total and tied a school record, picking off USF quarterback Mike White three times in the Tigers 23-10 win over the Bulls.
McCain's second interception was returned 36 yards for a touchdown, helping seal the Tigers' win.
The junior DB is the first Memphis player ever to score on two interception returns in the same season.
Also honored, kicker Jake Elliott is one of three players named a "Star of the Week" by the Lou Groza National Collegiate Place-Kicker Award.
Elliott's 56-yard field goal at USF set a new school record, besting the previous record of 53 yards by current New England Patriot's kicker Stephen Gostkowski.
The Tigers continue a two-game road swing Saturday, traveling to No. 21 Louisville.
Saturday's game is set for an 11 a.m. kick.
