(WMC-TV) – The Beale Street Music Company says a vintage Midtown hotspot, Lafayette's, is reopening in Overton Square.

The company says it's signed a lease for the 5, 296 foot restaurant, in an effort to reopen the 1970's hotspot, Lafayette's Music Room.

It's expected to open in the spring of 2014 and the location is 2119 Madison. Lafayette's Music Room is known for showcasing legendary musicians such as Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, and Kiss.

The late Thomas Boggs, the first manager of Lafayette's, also played an instrumental role in defining Lafayette's as the music center of Memphis.
