(WMC-TV) - The man accused of murdering his estranged wife, a beloved Germantown mother and teacher, and then dumping her body is facing a judge in court Monday.

Chris Jones has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Heather Palumbo-Jones.

Her burned body was found dumped alongside U.S. Highway 64 near the Fayette-Shelby County Line. She was found wrapped in an air mattress back in mid-April. She disappeared almost a week before.

An autopsy report revealed Palumbo-Jones died of asphyxia.
