A woman whose body was found in a burning Robertson County house Sunday had been fatally shot prior to the fire, investigators said.

Kim Moran's death is now being investigated as a homicide, according to the Robertson County Sheriff's Office.

Her body was found early Sunday at the home in the 2500 block of Jack Teasley Road in Pleasant View.

The man suspected in her death, David Greenwood, had been sought for questioning when he engaged in a shootout with police Monday in Etowah, TN. Greenwood later died from his injuries.

Investigators believe Greenwood was at the home late Saturday night and was the last person to see Moran before the fire.

Robertson County officials are still investigating whether Greenwood acted alone in the shooting and house fire.

Deputies say they've never had any problems at the home before, and neighbors called the couple "quiet."

"It's a little unnerving that something like this can happen that close to you. It makes you a little more aware," said neighbor Freddy Garza.

Moran is survived by a daughter, who lived at the house with her. She was not home the day of the fire, and investigators say she was safe in Cheatham County.
