Breakdown of the winter storm - WMC Action News 5 - Memphis, Tennessee

Breakdown of the winter storm

A winter storm has hampered holiday travel this weekend. Below is a breakdown of the storm

  • The main push of rain and snow moves east, but there will be lingering showers through the afternoon. The best chance of additional rain and snow will be in the mountain ranges as well as areas closer to the New Mexico border.
  • Chilly for December with afternoon highs running about 10° below average.
  • Sunshine will return to the area as we work into the day, starting out west pushing to the east in the evening.
As the winter storm travels east, severe weather, ice, and heavy snow will hit the eastern half of the nation.

This could cause major travel days Saturday and Sunday.
