(WMC-TV) – A Union County deputy was killed in a car accident Wednesday night.

Deputy Clint Frazier was on duty when he crashed around 9 p.m. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, his patrol car left the road, struck an embankment and flipped.

Frazier was headed west on Highway 178 near Myrtle, Mississippi.

According to Sheriff Jimmy Edwards, Frazier leaves behind a wife and three daughters.

Action News 5's Michael Clark is working to learn more about the deputy and the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
