West Memphis schools closed due to town’s water problems

(WMC-TV) – Schools in West Memphis, Arkansas are closed on Tuesday, January 7 due to the ongoing water problems in that town. This stems from the cold temperatures and a computer failure that caused a pipe to burst on Monday.

A boil water notice is still in effect for the entire city of West Memphis after the cold temperatures and a computer failure caused a pipe to burst.

State health officials say you should throw out all your ice cubes and avoid drinking water from the tap unless you boil it first.

The boil advisory will be lifted when tap water passes the required bacterial tests.
