Darius and Deonte Martin and their friend Carlos Hunt heard noises on their way up to the Wolfchase Galleria food court.

"We were just downstairs and heard two pops I think, and everybody just started running," said Darius Martin.

"When I just saw people running my instant reaction was to run too but then we still went downstairs to see it, because we thought it was a fight or something," said Deonte Martin.  "And my friend said just turn around turn around, because he heard somebody say they got a gun. So we turned around, ran back up the steps and ran out the door."

Just after 7:30 p.m., police received reports of shots fired during an armed robbery at the Reed's Jewelry store located on the second floor of the mall near Sears.

Investigators say five men dressed in black entered the store armed with sledge hammers and guns.

Police began receiving numerous calls from people hiding inside the mall.  Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Shoppers are still shocked.

"It's crazy, it don't make sense," said Hunt.  "There's so many people around that saw it."

The general manager at the mall did release a statement saying, "the police have reported that there was a robbery but there were no shots fired or injuries."  He deferred to police for further details.
