Trustee charged with intimidating election opponent

Special agents of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested current Henry County Trustee David Daniel Stone after an allegation of sending intimidating messages to his opponent.

On January 19, a candidate for Henry County Trustee received messages via Facebook from Stone that related to the victim attending a political event. The messages presented a specific threat that constituted a violation of the victim's civil rights. Stone was formally charged with civil rights intimidation.

At the request of the District Attorney General Hansel McCadams, TBI opened an investigation. Stone, 41, was arrested Friday evening and taken to the Henry County jail.

Stone was given bond of $7500.
