BARTLETT, TN -

(WMC-TV) – After accusations of crushed caskets and multiple bodies buried in the same grave, a well-known law firm will announce plans to represent families with loved ones buried at Galilee Memorial Gardens in Bartlett.

This announcement comes as the state goes to court to try to take over the cemetery.

The Cochran Firm, which is representing those families, will hold a news conference Monday to explain how they plan to move forward.

Jemar Lambert is the owner of Galilee Memorial Gardens and he's facing criminal charges that include abuse of a corpse and theft over $1,000.

The cemetery is closed and no one has been allowed in or out in more than a week.

The Shelby County District Attorney's Office locked the cemetery's gates because it is considered an active crime scene.

An investigation is underway to determine whether bodies were buried in the wrong graves and if others were stacked on top of each other to save space.

The state's petition to take over Galilee Memorial Gardens is expected to be heard Monday afternoon in Nashville.
