Houston claws Tigers

(WMC-TV) - In their first season in the AAC, the Memphis Tigers haven't been able to glide through the league schedule like they did in CUSA.

A dominant win here, a squeaker there.

Case in point, the 21st ranked Tigers second game against Houston.

Going for the season sweep, the Tigers stumble against the Cougars, falling 77-68.

Michael Dixon leading the way for Memphis with 19 points, but Memphis couldn't buckle down on defense, allowing a 14-5 run by the Cougars to finish the game.

The loss halts the Tigers' four-game win streak in the series.

Prior to the game, Memphis hadn't lost to Houston since dropping a game in the 2010 Conference USA tournament.

Next up, the Tigers, now 21-7 (10-5 AAC), host 7th ranked Louisville, Saturday, 1 o'clock at FedExForum.
