MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Memphis International Airport employees have been working to clear the runways and taxiways, in an effort to make them safe for arriving and departing planes.

According to Glen Thomas, public information officer for Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, the airport has used four de-icer trucks, 10 snow brooms, five snow plows, and seven snow plows with two-behind snow brooms in order to clear the runways.

Even though MEM is up and running, the wintry weather at other airports around the country has caused cancellations in Memphis.
