(WMC-TV) - Just before noon Monday MLGW crews worked to restore power on Rozelle Street near Central Gardens.

"The power went out last night around 10:30. It's getting a little cold in the house. We're ready for some power," said resident Adam Good.

Down the street, Lauren Mitchell was dealing with a flooded basement.

"I have power, but I'm dealing more with a plumbing issue," she said. "It's just sitting here, it needs to be pumped out."

She says just after 10 p.m. Sunday she called a city crew out to her house; they said it was not their problem.

On Monday morning, she called a plumber out and found the backup in a sewage pipe.

Two neighbors down was a man hole. When city crews finally arrived they pull the cover, and it was backed up because of too much grease.

The city says they were not scheduled to get out on roads, but came to the house because it was an emergency. They plan to clean the sewage line once the weather clears.

The city agreed to put a line on a list to get flushed out every 30-60 days.
