Family and friends remember volunteer fire fighter Jordan LeBlanc

CENTER, TX (KTRE) -

Family and friends gathered Thursday morning to remember the life of 19-year-old Timpson volunteer fire fighter Jordan LeBlanc.

"Jordan was one of a kind," Jordan's mother Sherry LeBlanc said.

"He was real outgoing his whole life." Jordan's father John LeBlanc said.

The LeBlanc's are devastated, saying the loss of their 19-year-old son, has left a hole in their heart.

"Somebody was going the wrong way on the freeway and that's when it happened," John LeBlanc said.

Jordan tragically died Monday night after being involved in a three vehicle accident on U.S Highway 59 near Shelby County. Many residents in East Texas were shocked to hear the news of Jordan's death, because Jordan touched so many lives through his selfless work. For the last year he dedicated his life to public service as a volunteer fire fighter for Timpson.

Emotions were high for friends and family as they said their goodbye's to Jordan. About 200 people packed First United Pentecostal Church in Center,Tx. During the hour and a half ceremony one by one family and friend shared their favorite memories with Jordan.

"[My favorite memory] of him going off-shore with me and catching big fish. He caught fish bigger than he was," John LeBlanc said.

His mother said he was the type of son that any mother would want.

"He never gave me any trouble." Sherry LeBlanc said.

Captain Vick Morgan with the Timpson Volunteer Fire Department said that Jordan was always the first one out the door and he loved his job.

"He got rookie of the year," Morgan said. "He was an upcoming fire fighter," Morgan said.

Following the service over a dozen local law enforcement's lead Jordan's body to his final resting spot border cemetery.

In honor of Jordan's service Timpson Volunteer Fire Department and the city of Timpson  retired his number 149.
