ETX man behind bars after assaulting multiple people with a baseball bat

Released by the Tyler Police Department:

On March 9, 2014 at8:00 A.M. Tyler Police officers responded to a call at 3301 Mineola Hwy at theEconomy Inn.  Officers were advised that a black male was on locationassaulting the residents of room 410 with a baseball bat.  Information wasgiven to officers that the suspect left in a white Ford Crown Victoria. Officers located the vehicle in the area and conducted a traffic stop. Officers located 24 year old Jeremy Walker and 26 year old Amber Garza insidethe room. Both subjects had been assaulted with a baseball bat.  EMS wascalled to the scene and Garza was transported to ETMC for non-life threateninginjuries.  Walker was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.  Thesuspect was identified as 52 year old Grover Davis who lives in Tyler. Davis was arrested and booked into Smith County Jail for two aggravatedassaults.
