BCSO investigating St. Helena Island shooting

ST. HELENA ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -

 

The Beaufort County Sheriff's office is investigating a shooting incident that injured one man on St Helena Island.
 
At approximately 6:35 pm on Sunday, a male 19-year-old victim was reported to have been shot in the face while in the vicinity of Jenkins Port Road near Eddings Point.

Three witnesses grabbed the victim and attempted to transport him to Beaufort Memorial Hospital before deputies stopped their vehicle near Distant Island Road. EMS responded and transported the victim to Beaufort Memorial.
 
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office investigators are interviewing witnesses at this time. The victim's condition is not known.
