MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Remember the photo last week from the Oscars, the record breaking retweeted selfie by Ellen DeGeneres? Well, it has gone viral and now the photographer is getting props for shooting the photo correctly.

What are we saying? Actor Bradley Cooper took the photo horizontal; right to left. It fits all the way across the screen and shows the most people possible in the photo.

This winter we've had a lot of winter precipitation and many of you sent in photos. Those of you stuck in I-55 in Arkansas even send us videos. We appreciate and love your photos and video because they help us do our job better.

But we want to help you shoot professionally. Turn your phone to the side - shoot horizontally, with the home button to your right.

Why you may ask? Empty space! Yes - there is space you are not using on all of the screen. Take a look at what vertical video can do, all the space, all the details.

So keep sending us your photos and videos, keep sharing your life; just hold the phone flash up, horizontally and together we can all take better photos!

By the way, send what you have to MY5@wmctv.com.
