Wide Receiver Andre Roberts, who earned All-American status during his time at The Citadel, agreed to a contract with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday.
Multiple sources report the deal is for 4 years worth $16 million, which could go up to over $17 million with incentives. $8 million of that is expected to be guaranteed.
Roberts confirmed the move on his Twitter account in the afternoon. "I'm elated to be apart of the #Redskinsnation & to play with @RGIII & along side @PierreGarcon ect..Time to be great!!!#HTTR #SALUTE"
He was a 3rd round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2010 NFL draft after playing 4 years with the Bulldogs. Roberts had 43 catches for 471 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2013. For his career he has 182 catches for 2,123 yards and 11 touchdowns.
