(WMC-TV) - A judge released a Wolfchase Mall smash-and-grab robbery suspect on his own recognizance Wednesday.

The judge based his decision on Maurice Williams' criminal history. Charges are still pending against Williams, and he has a court date in May.

The armed robbery in mid-January sent shoppers scrambling on a Saturday night. Police reported no injuries, but they said the five or six men involved stole 65 Rolex watches estimated to be worth $11,000 each from Reeds Jewelers.

Authorities arrested four other men—Dalton Francis, Andrew Penrice, Rodrick Walker, and Chadwick Bailey—from Houston in connection to the crime. Police also have a sixth person of interest, but they have not named that person or issued a warrant.

Investigators charged Williams in February with criminal attempted theft of property of more than $60,000 and theft of property of more than $250,000 in addition to vandalism.
