MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Police arrested a man for the shooting death of Santos Castillo.  The shooting happened early Sunday morning in the driveway of a home in the 4200 block of Reed Avenue.

Police charged Samuel Hernandez, 29, with first-degree murder in the death of Castillo.

Just a short distance from Wells Station Elementary School, police stretched crime scene tape around the white sheet covering a young Memphis man's body. Neighbors were stunned.

"I don't know cause its an evil world you know, the world is full of darkness," said one resident.

Neighbors use the term "evil" because according to investigators, around 4:00 a.m. Sunday Castillo was hanging out with friends in front of a house when a gunman drove by and opened fire.

The police report says Hernandez admitted fighting with Castillo and shooting him several times.

Neighbors report hearing several shots and shortly afterwards officers found several shell casing they singled out with yellow markers.

Friends of Castillo decline to be interviewed on camera, but off camera they described him as a calm person and not one likely to get in fights or other violence. Now his wife, friends and relatives are mourning his tragic death.

Hernandez is set to face a judge Monday morning.
