Andrea Walker's preliminary hearing set for April

Andrea Walker, 33, is charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of felony child abuse, neglect, or endangerment. Andrea Walker, 33, is charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of felony child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.
(WMC-TV) - Andrea Walker, the woman accused of killing her baby daughter, Aniston, did not make a court appearance Monday morning, but a judge set a preliminary hearing for April.

Prosecutors and the defense are still waiting for the medical examiner's report.

This case started unfolding in early January when Aniston Walker disappeared at just 7 weeks old. Sunday marked exactly one month since her body was found in a ditch alongside a road in Millington.

The next day, Monday, February 17, Walker turned herself in to police. However she has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Aniston's cause of death has not been determined, which is why the medical examiner's report is so important to the case.

"Even if they can prove a cause of death, that doesn't implicate Miss Walker," defense attorney Blake Ballin said. "They still have to prove that Miss Walker caused the death in order to sustain the charges against her."

If convicted, the 33-year-old mother could get the death penalty or life in prison.

A judge set Walker's preliminary hearing for April 25. She remains in Jail East without bond.
