GERMANTOWN, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Germantown Police Department identified Teresa Booker, 53, as the suspect involved in the Panera Bread wallet thefts after getting several tips.

According to police, she wears wigs and uses a fake ID when using other people's credit cards.

"She's obviously an expert at what she's doing," said Marcia Bolton, whose wallet was stolen right out of her purse. "You know, I work for a living, an honest living. And she's been able to get a lot of money."

Warrants were issued for Booker on charges of theft of property over $500, theft of property under $500, and identity theft. She is suspected of stealing wallets from several customers at the Panera Bread restaurant in Germantown over the past year.

"And then the credit card is being used all over the general area," said Lt. Bill Stemmler, Germantown Police Department.

"I mean, it's just been a major hassle," added Bolton.

Investigators describe Booker as transient, both locally and state to state. She has an arrest record in Shelby County for prostitution online, stealing magazines from a grocery store, and driving without a license.

Booker's listed address on Tulane Road does not exist. She used to live in an extended stay motel, and before that, at a house on Cutter Mill Road.

Now, she is wanted on multiple theft charges, including ringing up more than $1,200 on Bolton's credit cards.

"I hope they do find her because, like I said, she has affected a lot of people's lives," said Bolton.

If you know where Booker is, contact Germantown Police Department at 757-CASH (2274).
