(WMC-TV) - Hundreds of students will get to stay at Houston middle and high after an agreement between Germantown and Collierville schools.

Collierville's municipal school board will vote Friday night on the agreement approved by Germantown's school board Thursday, which was much to the delight of many parents.

The mother, Andrea McLeod, is the PTA President, and she is relieved her boys and hundreds of other existing students at Houston middle and high schools who live in Collierville will be grandfathered in by Germantown municipal schools through their exit years.

"Especially my junior, you don't move a junior their senior year of high school ... It's ridiculous," she said.

The agreement unanimously approved Thursday night by the Germantown school board includes a $100 per pupil payment from Collierville.

Meanwhile, Germantown will be allowed to use Collierville's bus lot. The plan will also free up needed space at a few Collierville schools.

"We're talking about small districts. So, I think it's wise to share these services that they can and reduce costs for individual municipalities," said McLeod.

The agreements between Germantown and Collierville mirror others between some suburbs as all six municipal districts prepare for their first school years.
