Memphis Bar Association accepting applications for Summer Law Intern Program

(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Bar Association is accepting applications for their Summer Law Intern Program.

Minority students who will begin their junior or senior year of high school in August 2014 are invited to apply. All applicants must be residents of and attend school in Shelby County.

Internships will be during the four week period of June 2-27, 2014. If accepted, the student will work at least 60 hours from June 2-27 and attend group activities on Friday afternoon.

According to their website, the intern program is an initiative by the Diversity Committee of the Memphis Bar Association and was created in 2007 with the purpose of exposing high school students to the "real world" practice of law and encouraging them to consider law as a career.

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28. The application and more information about the program can be found at
