Two caught on high school campus with gun, box cutter

(WMC-TV) - Two people were caught trespassing on the Manassas High school campus with a gun in their possession, according to Shelby County Schools.

The two individuals, 16 and 17 years old, were not students. They fled after they were checked by school officers. The suspects fled and were stopped at Wortham Avenue and Woodlawn Street.

Police say the 16-year-old was in possession of a handgun and the 17-year-old had a box cutter.

More than a dozen incidents reported on SCS campuses so far this 2013-2014 school year could have jeopardized students' safety. The incidents range from guns and knives found in backpacks to sexual assault reports. See our interactive map and learn more here.
