(WMC-TV) - Shots were fired near Kirby High School just before school let out Thursday afternoon. Nearly a dozen police cars gathered in a nearby gas station parking lot.

The street where it happened is about .3 miles from the school.

Officials say no one was hit, but police took three people into custody; two were transported via an Operation Blue Crush vehicle.

Shortly after the scene cleared, tutoring classes let out. Students say this kind of violence needs to stop.

"They fight everyday after school. So it ain't nothing new, but when they have guns it gets scary," said student Seirra Moore.
