MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - The City of Memphis made one last push to enroll people in the president's health care plan. Hundreds of people showed up at the Citywide Enrollment Event at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church on Saturday.

Agents were on hand to navigate people through the process, both online and paper applications. The city is urging people to sign up to before the deadline to qualify for 2014 health insurance: Monday at 11:00 p.m.

"It's important to the community because the idea of having the dignity where people have a primary care physician who is not the ER doctor at the local emergency room," said City of Memphis Chief of Staff, Bobby White.

In most cases, if you don't get health insurance, you will have to pay a penalty on next year's tax return, which is $95 or one percent of your income, whichever is greater.

If you missed Saturday's event you can still sign up at HealthCare.gov or call the Health Insurance Marketplace at 1-800-318-2596.
