Early morning storms cause power outages

(WMC-TV) –Thunderstorms moving through the Mid-South early Friday morning caused many people to lose power.

Shelby County

Around 4:30 a.m., there were 3,495 Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) customers without power. As of 9 a.m., MLGW crews had restored power to most customers.  The outage map was reporting 273 customers without power.

If your power goes out, call MLGW at 901-544-6500. If you see downed power lines, you are asked to call MLGW's emergency number at 901-528-4465.

North Mississippi

According to an Entergy map, a few thousand people in North Mississippi were also without power Friday morning.

The Senatobia grid is down according to Entergy and crews are working to repair it.  The grid services Panola, Tate, Quitman, Tunica and Coahoma Counties. The town of Como, Miss. is also without power. This outage leaves about 3,000 people without power.

This is the same outage that left schools in the North Panola School District without power Friday morning.
