(WMC-TV) – First Tennessee Bank on Kirby Center Cove was robbed Monday morning just after 11 a.m.

According to Sergeant Karen Rudolph with the Memphis Police Department, a man in his mid-30s robbed the bank, armed with a handgun. No injuries were reported.

The bank is located at 6595 Kirby Center Cove, which is near Kirby Parkway and Winchester Road.

Customers who stopped by the bank Monday were turned away during the police investigation.

Dozens of customers were met by a note on the front door explaining that the bank branch was closed for the day.

Abraham Abdi has been banking at First Tennessee Bank for years. He says he has always felt safe inside.

"There's always an armed guard standing guard all the time," he said. "Anything can happen these days, man. It's crazy. Dangerous."

The suspect was wearing a blue hat and a blue shirt.
