A Better Mid-South: Stop playing the blame game

Posted: Updated:

Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Action News 5 general manager:

(WMC-TV) - There has been outrage expressed over the backlog of rape kits in Memphis.

I'm outraged about the backlog as well, but I'm even more outraged that now all the parties involved seem to be pointing the finger and blaming each other for what went wrong.

How about we take all the energy we are putting into blaming others and invest our work into solving this problem?

I feel as if the rape survivors are being victimized over and over. Once by their attacker, a second time by the system, and a third time by the blame game.

Tell me what you think about the rape kit backlog. Email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com or go on Facebook and like my page, A Better Mid-South and leave me a message there.

Stop the finger pointing and solve the rape kit backlog. That will make this A Better Mid-South.
