MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - There is speculation a Mid-South wedding could bring royal guests to town in May.

According to several reports out of the United Kingdom, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and several others are expected to be in Memphis on May 3 for a wedding.

David Hewlett has the privilege of making Memphis visitors feel like royalty. As a carriage driver for uptown, he and his horse get to carry people all over downtown Memphis, but he has never had actual royalty.

"We'd definitely comply with their wishes," he said. "It'd be very exciting. I don't think we've had royals in Memphis that I can remember, ever."

Several members of the royal family are expected to attend the wedding of London nightclub owner Guy Pelly and former Memphian Elizabeth "Lizzy" Wilson, granddaughter of Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson.

According to London's Sunday Times, Prince William and his brother are expected to act as ushers for the outdoor wedding at Memphis Polo Club. They are also expected to get a private tour of Graceland and dinner on Beale. Graceland said they have not been contacted by the palace for a tour, but they would be honored to welcome them to Elvis' famous mansion and share the history of his music that has influenced so many around the world.

"If royalty want to come here and eat, then everybody should come here and eat," said Natalia Hewlett, B.B. Kings.

People at B.B. Kings think it would be fitting to welcome a prince at the restaurant. Even Memphis Mayor A C Wharton likes the idea, especially during Memphis in May.
