OLIVE BRANCH, MS -

(WMC-TV) – Police arrested a suspected ice cream bandit and charged him with armed robbery in North Mississippi.

Olive Branch police released surveillance pictures of a man suspected of robbing a Baskin Robbins located in the 8100 block of Camp Creek Boulevard on Tuesday around 8:45 p.m.

The same man is suspected of robbing a TCBY yogurt shop in the 5000 block of Goodman Road on Wednesday. Police arrested 26-year-old Austin David Stewart shortly after that robbery.

An officer spotted the suspect's car near the TCBY. It is strange to target ice cream stores, but he was likely not after any of the 31 flavors.

The Olive Branch Police Department touted the quick arrest Wednesday night on its Facebook page.

An employee at one of the stores asked that we not give her name or show her face, but when we showed her Stewart's face on a booking photo, she had no doubt it was the same man who held her up.

"He pulled his T-shirt up and showed me the gun and was like, 'I got a weapon here, so give me all the money,'" she said. "We don't have that many cash in the register anyways."

Stewart is charged with the armed robbery of both stores.
